12 year old forcibly recruited into the Burma Army

Dec 15, 2009 - An insider has reported that Ree Reh, aged 12, of Daw
Tama Ngae village, Deemawso Township was abducted by a Burmese commander from IB no. 427 (name unknown) on November 15th.

Ree Reh is the eldest son of Lah Kye (deceased) and Koe Mar. He was seized and taken to the military camp while he was taking care of the family’s cow in a grazing ground outside village.

Upon learning that he had been taken to the army camp by a Burmese commander, his family was reported to have gone to the army camp and demanded his release. However, the Burmese soldiers refused to return him to his family.

When the village's head approached one of the camp commanders from IB no. 102, he was told that Ree Reh has been sent to a recruitment centre to become a soldier. No further explanation was offered by the officer.
